Course Overview

This interactive workshop helps individuals develop their confidence to communicate more clearly and successfully more of the time, ensuring positive results from your interactions with others.

From considering the image you portray to others when you communicate to engaging with internal or external customers either face-to-face or over the phone, you will learn how to influence and be more assertive in different situations, whilst ensuring you are asking the right questions in each situation to get the information you need to build stronger more effective relationships both inside and outside the workplace.

Role-plays and exercises are used throughout to enable delegates to practice their new skills.

  • Communicate successfully with a wide range of people, either face-to-face or over the telephone
  • Recognise your strengths as a communicator and identify areas for self-development
  • Understand how effective communication is as much to do with listening as with speaking
  • Identify your own communication style and understand how to modify it to be more effective in different situations
  • Recognise the barriers to and the basics of good communication
  • Handle potentially difficult situations with confidence, ensuring a successful outcome
  • Ask the right questions
  • Build rapport quickly through words, tone and body language
  • Listen to what is being said, not hearing what we think is being said
  • Understand how you may be perceived by others
